moles 12/30/2011
On the right, the moleskines that I've gone through in the past three years; on the left, two new ones that I received this Christmas from two separate sources. A testament to how much my family and friends know me. 2 Comments it always starts with a plane ride. 04/26/2011

...that i never got around to posting. I'm contemplating creating my own illustration site, but will be content for now just changing my blog banner. Dreams, dreams... Sunrise over half dome in Yosemite. The colours kept on changing so quickly that I was painting layers over layers. I didn't like this sketch right after I finished it, but now that I look at it again, it really does capture time in a way I hadn't planned. Just another impromptu "meeting" with dear Berkeleyan friends. Oh, yogurtland, how i miss you!! En route from San Francisco to Tokyo, back in March of last year. Has it already been almost a year? People-watching at Ryoanji Temple, Kyoto Plane food on JAL on the flight back to San Francisco. Looking forward to finding out what they serve from Tokyo to Taipei! resurfacing 05/08/2010
hi! i'm back to the blogging world, for good this time i hope. the worst of the semester is over, and my schedule is slowly returning to normal. i even graduate unofficially next week - ceremony, caps and gowns and pictures. although the certificate will be withheld until i hand in my final thesis sometime in the fall. goodbye, long sleepless nights of studio life. it was painful at times but i'm sure i'll look back and miss every moment. despite the madness, i'm proud that i have managed to keep up the drawing and writing in my sketchbook -- it's finally become a fully integrated part of my life. i can't wait to finally explore san francisco now that i have more time to get out of berkeley! i can smell summer in the air, and it is sure intoxicating. sketchbook january 9th 01/08/2010
don't know why, but i've been drawing lots more people lately. i went with m. to the gladstone hotel for the drop-in life drawing session this past wednesday evening, and while everyone else was concentrating on the model's body and muscles and movements, i kept on focusing on his facial features, trying to capture his anguished expression on paper. there's just something so terribly beautiful about the human face. | welcome! My name is Lichia; this is my online creative journal where I document ideas, inspirations, processes and everyday life. categoriesAll archivesDecember 2011 copyright2006-2012 by Lichia Liu.
