Gotamago is a family-owned, retail and wholesale micro-business, operating out of our studio-shop in Toronto, Canada. We are an inclusive company that puts people instead of profit first. We have a ton of fun, drink lots of coffee and tea, and enjoy geeking out over washi tapes and fountain pens. We have three part-time employees, one studio dog, one boss 3yo and one boss baby.

We are currently looking for a part-time website & design assistant to join our team. Our online retail side of the business has expanded drastically, and we need someone to help us maintain the website. This is a remote position, but you will be expected to come into the studio from time to time (1x per month or so) to take product photos, touch base with the team, etc.

As with any position in a small business with a tight-knit team, you will be wearing many hats. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, with high work ethics and the ambition to grow and learn over time.

Salary:  $18-20 per hour, 8-10 hours per week, commencing immediately. Hours are extremely flexible, and we are happy to accommodate parents with sporadic work hours -- we have young kids too!

Candidate must:

  • Be able to travel to our studio in East York once a month
  • Possess excellent written communication skills
  • Be tech-savvy, and a fast learner
  • Possess good Photoshop skills
  • Be organized, with high attention to detail
  • Enjoy doing the nuts and bolts of online listings, and making sure everything is in the correct place with the correct tags, over and over and over again
  • Love stationery and (ahem) Gotamago products
  • Be self-motivated and capable of working autonomously

Nice to have, but not required:

  • Knowledge of Shopify and Trello
  • Knowledge of Flodesk
  • Experience with social media, photography and content creation
  • Experience in copywriting
  • Knowledge of basic HTML and Google Docs

Sample Tasks:
  • Maintain website pages and create new listings
  • Write fun and accurate descriptions for new products
  • Take clear and styled photographs of products
  • Perform simple edits of photographs and images for marketing purposes
  • Create social media content
  • Draft blog posts and newsletters

If you are the right person for this job, please email your resume to with the subject “I'm the One Pho Gotamago”, and tell us about yourself. We look forward to hearing from you!
